Professor Jeffrey Alexander has been named this year’s Phi Beta Kappa Society Visiting Scholar. He will visit 8 colleges and universities this academic year, spending two days at each one and taking full part in the academic life of the institutions. He will meet informally with students and faculty members, participating in classroom discussions and seminars, and giving a public lecture open to the entire academic community.
