Bastomski to Urban Institute’s Justice Policy Center

Sara Bastomski will join the Urban Institute’s Justice Policy Center as a Research Associate I in July 2017. The Urban Institute is a leading economic and social policy think tank in Washington, DC. In her new position, Sara plans to continue her research on urban violence and the criminal justice system. Sara has published in Sex Roles (with co-author Philip Smith), and she has an article forthcoming at Social Networks (with co-authors Noli Brazil and Andrew Papachristos). She has also conducted policy research for the RAND Corporation and community-based nonprofits. Sara arrived at Yale in 2011 and will graduate this spring with her PhD for a dissertation entitled “Intimate Partner Violence and Urban Neighborhoods” with a committee of: Andrew Papachristos (Chair), Richard Breen (Oxford University), and Lloyd Grieger.
