Issa Kohler-Hausmann, Associate Professor of Yale Law and Sociology, was awarded the 2019 Herbert Jacob Book Prize for her book Misdemeanorland: Criminal Courts and Social Control in an Age of Broken Windows Policing (Princeton University Press), and Michael Yarbrough GRD ‘13 and YLS ‘09, now Assistant Professor of Political Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY), won the 2019 Law and Society Association Article Prize for “Very Long Engagements: The Persistent Authority of Bridewealth in a Post-Apartheid South African Community,” Law & Social Inquiry 43 (3): 647-77.
