Graduate Student Sarah Brothers recently published an article entitled “A Good ‘Doctor’ is Hard to Find: Assessing Uncredentialed Expertise in Assisted Injection” in Social Science and Medicine. This article examines how laypeople assess uncredentialed expertise in the high-risk practice of assisted injection. An earlier version of the article was presented at the Comparative Research Workshop and at the 2018 American Sociological Association meeting. It was awarded the 2019 Bruce D. Johnson Graduate Student Paper Award from the American Sociological Association’s Alcohol, Drugs, and Crime Section.
