Professor Elijah Anderson was invited to deliver a keynote address at the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize Forum, which was held at Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota September 13-16. Each year, the Nobel Peace Prize Forum gathers Nobel laureates with a number of other keynote speakers for conversations that include community members and students. This year the laureates were Tunisia’s National Dialogue Quartet, and the broad theme was “Dialogue in Divided Societies.” Professor Anderson’s talk was entitled “Race and Space in America’s Cities.” He also participated in a panel discussion, “Peace by Design,” about urban spaces, historical injustices, infrastructure projects, and community organizing.
