Federico Brandmayr is a lecturer in sociology at Yale University. He studies the politics of knowledge and expertise, including why people distrust scientific experts and why explanations of natural and human phenomena become politically controversial. His book project develops a theory of how social-scientific causal accounts acquire political and moral meaning through their perceived implications for responsibility and blame.
