Golasa is in the joint-degree PhD program in Sociology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is interested in social movements, with a specific focus on the Middle East. Her research centers on grassroots activism within authoritarian contexts, emphasizing how individuals align with movements and how daily acts of resistance can both initiate and sustain activism in authoritarian states like Iran.
