Placement Opportunities

Sociology Majors from Yale have a diverse series of career outcomes. Upon graduation some go into business and corporate life, others into further education or professional school, and some take time out to volunteer and help other people.

Outcomes in recent years include graduate entry positions at Google, Goldman Sachs, Sears, RBS and other companies; graduate school with fellowship support in fields including Social Sciences; Criminology; Education, and Urban Planning at schools including Harvard, MIT, Yale, Penn, Northwestern, and other programs; law or medical school at Harvard, Columbia, and others; major service through Teach for America, the Yale Chaplain’s Office, the Peace Corps and other programs, and funded independent research in, for example, China and England via, for example, Marshall Scholarships and the Yale Fox International Fellowship Program.
