Professor Rene Almeling has been awarded a two-year grant by the National Science Foundation for her research on medical knowledge-making about men’s reproduction. Using a combination of historical, qualitative, and quantitative methods, Almeling is examining scientific and medical research about sperm, as well as men’s views about reproduction. She will report her results in articles and a book titled Guynecology: Men, Medical Knowledge, and Reproduction, which is under contract with the University of California Press.
