Graduate student Patrice Collins has been awarded the Yale University President’s Public Service Fellowship (PPSF), Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Emerging Scholar Award (DESRA), and Dwight Hall Center for Public Service and Social Justice at Yale Graduate Service Fellowship (GSF) for her research and service to families experiencing parental incarceration. Collins received PPSF to work on behalf of human development and neighborhood revitalization with public sector and nonprofit organizations in the City of New Haven. The DESRA was awarded to Collins for outstanding academic promise and achievement, and she received the GSF for her service to promote and support community engagement among students in the graduate and professional schools at Yale. Collins is also a fellow of the Comer School Development Program (SDP) within the Yale Child Study Center and the Urban Ethnography Project (UEP) within the Department of Sociology.
