Graduate student Celene Reynolds has been awarded a Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant for her work on how and why the implementation of Title IX has shifted from an emphasis on gender equity in athletics to sexual harassment on campus. Using a combination of historical, qualitative, and quantitative methods, Reynolds is examining Title IX complaints filed with the Department of Education, Title IX lawsuits, and applications of the law at the local level in universities.
