Research co-authored by graduate student Hirokazu Shirado was featured in Nature journal last week. The paper, entitled “Inequality and visibility of wealth in experimental social networks” reported on an experiment to identify how the visibility of inequality affects future outcomes. The Yale Institute for Network Science (YINS) team found that the economic gap between the rich and poor becomes even wider when inequality is made visible. The paper was co-authored by associate research scientist Akihiro Nishi, Professor Nicholas A. Christakis, and assistant professor of psychology David G. Rand.
