UCLA’s Treiman Joins as Visiting Professor

World-renowned stratification scholar Donald Treiman, Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus, UCLA Sociology, will join our department as a Visiting Professor for the Fall 2016 semester. Professor Treiman’s research covers an array of work on inequality, social mobility, and migration in a variety of contexts, including China, South Africa, and Europe. While at Yale he will be affiliated our CIQLE workshop and will teach two courses: ”Survey Data Analysis” and ‘Advanced Topics in Stratification.” Chair of the department, Professor Philip Smith said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Don to Yale in the fall. His vast academic experience will allow him to provide invaluable assistance to CIQLE graduate students. As a teacher and colleague with a global reputation he will bring a range of benefits to the department as a whole. We are all very excited.”
