Welcome to Daniel Karell as Assistant Professor of Sociology

We are delighted to announce that Daniel Karell will be joining the Sociology Department as Assistant Professor of Sociology on July 1, 2020. 
 
Daniel is currently Assistant Professor of Social Research and Public Policy at New York University Abu Dhabi. Previously, he was a Fung Global Fellow at Princeton University’s Institute for International and Regional Studies and a postdoctoral research associate at New York University Abu Dhabi. He received his PhD in 2014 in Sociology from the University of Washington and his AB in Comparative Study of Religion from Harvard University. His current research uses computational and network approaches to study propaganda, radicalism, and conflict. His publications have appeared in American Sociological Review, Poetics, Journal of Peace Research, and other journals.
