Professor Christopher Wildeman has a new study out in JAMA Pediatrics that has received a good deal of media attention this past week. In it, he and his coauthors argue that annual rates of confirmed child maltreatment understate the number of children maltreated during childhood - according to their findings, maltreatment will be confirmed for one in eight children in the US by age eighteen.
