Giovanni Zampieri

Giovanni Zampieri is a PhD candidate in Social Sciences at the University of Padova. His research project focuses on the infrastructures of Sacramental Penance in early modern Veneto. Giovanni earned his BA in Scienze Sociologiche (Sociological Sciences) at the University of Padova in 2018, writing a thesis on an experiential learning activity that he evaluated by combining qualitative and quantitative methods. In 2021, he earned an MA in Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento. There, he deepened his interests in historical and cultural sociology, writing a thesis on how early modern manuals for confession worked as dramaturgical scripts for priests and penitents.
