Social Context and Social Interaction: A Multidimensional Study of Market Behaviors of Individuals and Organizations

Jing Ping’s research focuses on the interaction between social actors and how it shapes their economic behaviors in complex social structure characterized by frequent information updates and the coexistence of multiple interdependent relationships. Drawing on data on over four million single-family house transactions, her dissertation examines how individuals and organizations utilize the resources from their embedded social context to inform their important market decisions and to nurture their relationships with others.
