Mio Tamakoshi
Mio Tamakoshi is a PhD candidate in sociology and a doctoral researcher at the research group “Varieties of Reproduction Regimes” at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center in Germany. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from University of Tokyo, Japan and her Master of Social Sciences from University of Helsinki, Finland.
Mio’s research interests focus on the politics and policies of reproduction, with a particular emphasis on abortion and medically assisted reproduction (MAR). Her dissertation examines the interactional development of medical practices and regulations surrounding MAR-induced multiple pregnancies and multifetal pregnancy reduction in Italy and Japan.
She is visiting Yale as a Visiting Assistant in Research from January 2024 to April 2024.
