Ryan Barrett is a Sociology PhD student at Yale University. His interests involve combining quantitative methods to understand social phenomena. This has involved gathering huge datasets to classify human behavior as demonstrating certain psychological tendencies via machine learning algorithms, and then using these classifications to fit network models to predict the probability of connection between people. Other areas of interest include randomised control trials, and studying human cooperation.
