Yuanhang Zhu is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology at Yale University. Her research interest lies in political sociology, economic sociology, and social theory. Her current research project examines how the state cultivated the concepts and ethics of modernity in the marginalized rural society in China’s poverty alleviation campaign through comparative qualitative studies.
