As an undergraduate student at UW-Madison, I completed a two-year-long ethnography seeking to understand the cultural identification of Chinese international students, by examining forces that both pull them to the assimilation into the White American culture, as well as those that push them back to isolation. Currently, by looking into the changing forms of news media, entertainment media and social media, I am interested in how the increasing use of digital devices influence our cognitive ability, affective ability, and autonomy.
