Seulgi Park
Seulgi Park is a PhD candidate in the Department of Communication at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Her research lies at the intersection of health communication and intercultural communication, with a focus on addressing health disparities among immigrant populations. In her dissertation, she employs mixed methodologies to explore patient-centered communication and applies the ecological model of medical encounters to medical consultations between Korean immigrants in the U.S. and their primary care physicians. More broadly, her work examines how social and cultural factors shape interactions between immigrant patients and their healthcare providers, with particular attention to health literacy and patient engagement among immigrant populations.
