Professor Marcus Hunter’s new book, Black Citymakers: How The Philadelphia Negro Changed Urban America, has just been published by Oxford University Press. The book revisits the Black Seventh Ward, which W.E.B. DuBois immortalized in 1899, and analyzes both its transformation and the role of black Philadelphians: citymakers and agents of urban change. Congratulations, Marcus!
