PhD candidate Sarah Brothers has won the 2020 Hacker-Mullins Student Paper from the Science, Knowledge, and Technology section of the ASA. The paper, ““A Good “Doctor” is Hard to Find: Assessing Uncredentialed Expertise in Assisted Injection,” published in Social Science and Medicine, examines how lay people use trust mechanisms to assess uncredentialed expertise.
